HISTORY

The Travelodge Hotel Saskatoon was founded by the late Harold Latace, in 1972. A true entrepreneur and visionary, Harold Latrace built a motel at the extreme north end of Saskatoon, SK, the only business in the city, other than the airport, that far north. He predicted the city would continue to expand into that area. The location soon became a major intersection, on the main feeder in and out of the city from the North. It is also flanked by a vibrant business hub, the airport industrial business sector. Turning dreams into reality was our founder’s specialty. We share his spirit and determination, the kind that has built great hotels throughout North America.

Since entering the market with 65 guestrooms in 1972, the property has undergone multiple expansions and improvements. The most recent renovation project is a full refurbishment of all guestrooms. The Travelodge now offers three spa suites, six long term efficiency suites and eleven guest rooms with creative, engaging youth themes. The property has been further positioned as “A unique destination for travelers in Saskatchewan.” the only full service property in the province to offer “Themed Guest Rooms”.

Renovations on “Oscars Lounge” have just been completed, making this truly a warm, experience for all our guests. As well, renovations are currently being done to our restaurant and once complete, our lobby will be restructured to provide a beautiful entry into a wonderful hospitality experience.
